Matt: How do you work this thing?

It’s good to get a reminder every now and then why I don’t use Windows. I thought a fresh install & update of XP from a service pack 2 disc would be quick. Lesson learned:

Lesson 2, the Pyrex they’re selling these days ain’t yo grand-momma’s Pyrex:

No meals were harmed in the making of this photograph (it was already done cooking).

Preparing for deburnination

Today in Tucson:

tucson temp

Tomorrow in Boulder:

boulder temp

Interestingly, their low temp plus their high temp is roughly equal to our low temp, and our high temp minus our low temp is equal to their high temp (brought to you by the Bureau of Meaningless Statistics). Anyway, this should be a fun change; I’m not sure I’ve ever been in temperatures so low, so this will be a good challenge to my “weather doesn’t really bother me” attitude. And anyway, nice as 77 degrees sounds, in the middle of December, it’s kind of sick.

Realizing the great promise of wireless internet

Thursday, December 7th, 2006

It’s on these 75-degree, sunny days in December when I like to pause and reflect on some things I love: living in Tucson, flexible work, wireless internet, the Catalina mountains. But most importantly, it’s the combination of the above items into one happy day of tele-work.

(beware, pictures embiggen abundantly)

A higher authority, sorta …

Monday, December 4th, 2006

Well, Hebrew National says they answer to a higher authority. I’m not sure what happens when you eat their hot dogs with Bush’s baked beans, but we did anyway.

It’s okay, we didn’t need those trees for anything anyway.
